Marlpool Infant School

Marlpool's vision

  1. To develop lively enquiring minds, the ability to stay focused, to question and to debate rationally.
  1. To acquire and to apply knowledge, skills and practical abilities relevant to the needs of life at home, at work, at leisure and as citizens in a fast changing world.
  1. To acquire a reasoned set of attitudes, values and beliefs including a respect for and understanding of other people and their way of life.
  1. To experience personal achievement and learn to appreciate that of others.
  1. To develop a sense of self-respect, the capacity to live as independent self-motivated individuals with the will to contribute to the welfare of others and  to society.
  1. To provide a school environment that is safe and stimulating for all.
  1. To develop an understanding of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and respect for the environment and the world we all share.

We strongly believe that education involves a partnership between parents, children and teachers. We welcome your involvement in the school, for example helping out in the library or in the classroom with practical activities and reading is invaluable.

Please let us know if you have any spare time and would like to come in and help.

There is an open evening and two consultation evenings each year, when you can come in to meet the teachers and discuss your child’s work. A written report on your child’s progress is also made towards the end of the summer term.

We are, of course, always happy to see you if you wish to discuss your child’s progress at any time. It is helpful if an appointment can be made first but, in an emergency, you can contact the Headteacher.
